Wait! You didn’t really mean I should forgive right? There’s no way that’s happening!

Life thus far has taught me one important lesson, which is the fact that unforgiveness has just one pathway- negativity. I’ve come to understand that in order to truly forgive, we must learn to see the people that hurt us in the light of love. I know, I know! Love? That might be hard for most minds to embrace. This process is never easy and it clearly takes the grace of God to help us detox and rebuild ourselves in love again.

Few years ago I went through a personal ‘cleansing’ experience that was as a result of a betrayal from a close friend. I was still in college and off course we were all hyped about the ‘best friend’ vibe and sometimes we just forgot to read the clear writings on the wall. The truth truly hurts and at that point, I wasn’t even ready to accept and live with that truth.

Previously I had side chatters who convinced me of what they heard and saw. SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound) goal setting concept presented on blackboard with colorful crumpled sticky notes and white chalk handwriting

Happy September!! It’s almost the end of the year. Like What?! There’s something about the ‘ember months’ that make people excited. Am I the only one with this kind of view? Most people look forward to Thanksgiving, Sales season and Christmas; so there’s a tendency that they’ll also give more (hopefully).

Well, beyond that, it’s a time to start reflecting on some of our goals from January and evaluate how far we’ve gone, what mistakes were made and how to move forward with a stronger determination.

However, I believe what really drives us are our life goals. Setting clear goals in life is one aspect that sets the pace for the rest of our goals and help us make the right decisions. What would you like to achieve 5, 10, 20 years from now? Do you have clearly written out goals and also implementation steps towards achieving them?

One of my ‘virtual mentors’ who I’ve also met- Mr Lanre Olusola told me earlier this year of the importance of being detailed about our life goals. He also stressed on the significance of writing down our goals in the past tense and how that helps our subconscious to literally work towards them.
